How to test custom-made hotel lighting fixtures?

With the development of social science management technology, there are a wide variety of lighting fixtures. Among hotel lighting fixtures, the custom-made test lights meet the standards. So, in which aspects should we conduct the tests? 

(1) Hotel lighting customization is identified based on the appearance of the lamps. 

① Lamp markings 

When inspecting the custom-made lighting fixtures of the hotel, the first step is to check the labels on the fixtures, such as the trademark, model, rated voltage, rated power, etc., to determine if they comply with public usage standards. Safety of the labels is the basic requirement for the safety performance of the fixtures, and the rated power is particularly important. For example, for a fixture designed to be 40 watts, since the rated power is not indicated, users may install 60 watt or 100 watt bulbs, which may cause the shell to deform, insulation damage, even electric shock and fire. 

In addition, this standard stipulates that the cross-sectional area of the wires used on custom-made hotel lighting fixtures is 0.5 mm2. To reduce costs, some manufacturers use conductors with a cross-sectional area less than 0.5 mm2 in their products. This may cause the conductors to catch fire and short-circuit even after the insulating layer has burned, thereby posing risks. During the inspection process, the printed marks on the outer insulation layer of the conductors on the lamps can be seen.

② Identification of electric shock protection 

Attention should be paid to electric shock prevention. After the lamp is powered on, people should not be able to touch the live parts, and there will be no risk of electric shock. For incandescent lamps (such as chandeliers and wall lamps), install the bulbs. In the absence of electricity, if the little finger cannot touch the live parts, the anti-electric shock performance is basically the same. 

The anti-electrocution performance of the custom-made lighting fixtures in the hotel does not meet the standards. This is usually caused by using substandard lamp holders or the electrified parts of the lamps. 

(2) Identify based on the structure of the lamp 

The inlet and outlet of the metal pipe through which the wire can pass should have no sharp edges to prevent the need for cutting the wire, which could pose risks of causing the metal structural components to become electrified or result in electric shock accidents. 

② For lamps and floor lamps and other types of lighting fixtures, lighting equipment manufacturers should install wire supports at the entry point of the power cord to effectively prevent the power cord from being pushed back and coming into contact with different heating system components. If the wire overheats, the insulation layer will melt, exposing the wire to come into direct contact with the metal casing, causing the casing to become electrified and resulting in electric shock to students. 

(3) Identify from the accessories used in the custom-made lighting fixtures of the hotel. 

For hotel custom-made lighting fixtures that use electronic ballasts, it is advisable to choose those equipped with abnormal protection electronic ballasts. Abnormal protection refers to the feature where the ballast can still function normally even when there is an abnormal condition in the fluorescent circuit. 

② If the hotel lighting fixtures are custom-made and use induction ballasts, please check the label on the ballast and try to choose a ballast with a higher TW value (such as tw130), especially when the heat dissipation conditions of the fixtures are poor. TW is the rated high operating temperature of the ballast coil. At this temperature, the ballast can operate continuously for 10 years.
